meffys logoMobile Ecosystem Forum, has announced the 15 winners of its 12th annual Meffys – the international awards for measuring commercial success and rewarding innovation across the mobile ecosystem. The awards, supported by F-Secure and Mozilla, took place at a sell-out gala ceremony in London at the Rosewood Hotel, hosted by legendary beat-boxer and musical mastermind Beardyman.

This year’s Meffys included an expanded innovation section, as well as sector and market awards acknowledging the impact that both new entrants and start-ups have on the ecosystem; disrupting and driving the dynamism of the broader mobile industry.

“The 2015 Meffys finalists and ultimate winners give a unique snapshot on how mobile is driving monetisation, supporting social inclusion and driving the disruption of traditional sectors such as healthcare, finance and education.”

Rimma Perelmuter, CEO, MEF

Sectors as diverse as agriculture, policing and transport alongside finance, health and education were all strongly represented in the finalist line-up, demonstrating the broadening mobile ecosystem as it expands into new areas; enriching the lives of consumers and supporting businesses in their endeavours to use mobile as the de facto platform for empowering individuals and enterprises.

Entries came from over 30 countries with strong representation from growth economies marking a further shift towards mobile-first markets in driving success and innovation and bringing new consumers online.

Winners on the night came from Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Finland, India, Philippines, UAE, UK and US. Were you there?  Check back on the MEF Minute for pictures of the evening in the next few days.
